What is the MicroMasters Program?
MicroMasters programs are a series of graduate level courses designed to advance your career. They provide deep learning in a specific career field and are recognized by employers for their job relevance. Students may apply to the university offering credit for the MicroMasters certificate and, if accepted, can pursue an accelerated Master’s Degree.
How it Works
- Take a series of online courses taught by UC San Diego instructors on edX, and pass all the course requirements.
- Pass a proctored exam - either a single final exam or one exam for each course, depending on the program.
- Once all courses in the program have been successfully completed, earn a verified MicroMasters credential from UC San DiegoX that proves you have gained the skills to advance your career.
- Learners who complete the MicroMasters program can accelerate a Master’s degree at universities which offer credit for the MicroMasters certificate.

The Data Science MicroMasters Program provides a professional, graduate-level foundation in Data Science over 4 courses.
Algorithms and Data Structures
The Algorithms and Data Structures MicroMasters Program teaches algorithmic techniques for solving various computational problems through implementing over one hundred algorithmic coding problems in a programming language of your choice over 8 courses.
